Karzen Wins National Title in Junior Points Race (17-18)

Kit Karzen claimed his first National Championship title as a 17-18 year-old junior by winning the points race tonight. It was a long, hard battle settled on the final sprint. Way to go Kit!!!!!

He also gnabbed a Bronze medal in the Keirin. He is contesting one more individual race (scratch race) and two team events (Team Sprint and Madison) this weekend.

We're proud of you, Kit!

Peter Rennie Delivers VRC's First Ever Win in a Category 1/2 Event

Congrats to U25 Elite Team member Peter Rennie, who delivered the first ever win in a category 1/2 event for Team VRC. He's been knocking on the door this season with several podiums in Pro/1/2 crits, but he finally grabbed the win at the CBR promoted FIAC National Criterium Championships. As Peter is a Kiwi, he did not win the jersey, but we'll take the win nonetheless.

Good on ya, mate! ;-)

Lawrence Novitch Podiums at CBR Final!

"You've come a long way, baby" is all we can say about Lawrence Novitch. He started the year as "one speed Larry" but got on a disciplined Velo-Fit training regime and has become a force to reckon with. He scored his second podium with a fine second place finish in the 40+ 4/5's. He also benefited by outstanding team work from teammates John Velez (3rd), David Adler (6th), Barry Fink, Mike Novitch, and Jens Wallrabe. Great job guyz!!! Photo courtesy of Evan Wischik.

Antony Galvan Wins CBR 30+ BAR Series!

Congrats to Antony "the Galvanizer" for sewing up the series overall in the CBR Best All-around Racer (BAR) series for the 30+. It was a long, hard fought battle against American racing icon Thurlow "Turbo" Rogers. Congrats also to Witek Czulak for policing the breaks and garnering a top-10 on the day. The team was pleased to have Scotty "the Prof" Evans back out to play and he did a fine job setting up Antony for the final sprint, to get the few points not gobbled up by the break (to our advantage, as it prevented any danger of Thurlow nabbing the win on the final day).
