Cat 3 and Cat 4 Men's Masters 2010 Race Season/Team

Dear Cat 3 and 4 club members who happen to be men, interested in racing during the 2010 season, and are not part of the U25 Team…

Background: Last season we started, in a small way to lay the ground work, building a NOW – MS Society Cat 3/4/5 masters race team/program. We had some success with a number of people upgrading to CAT 4 and CAT 3. Many of the races last year were team efforts resulting in some success for the team, individuals, a lot of branding and recognition building for the Club.

As described in an e-mail to the club last year, we would like to emulate the organization, success, and camaraderie that the women’s racing team currently have. It has not been easy for them, but over time, through hard work and perseverance, they have attained their success by developing a singular team philosophy with members understanding the teams goals, individual objectives, and a “will do anything for the team” attitude. There are a number of men who want the same. Here is what we are thinking:

· Find the committed CAT 3/4 racers in the club who would be interested in forming a more structured team format

· Once we have determined which club members are willing to commit then determine race schedules, individual goals, team goals, etc

· Meet once a month for a team ride/training session

· Meet once every one or two months for a team social night

· Meet once every one or two months for race specific coaching sessions (Crits) with one of the top-notch coaches we have at our disposal

· CAT 5’s are more than welcome to join in with the training too, if they so wish.

Of course, if there are any of you who want to do their own thing, or want to race a couple of races throughout the season but cannot commit due to scheduling or whatever, that is fine too. We will be happy to see you whenever you can make it!

Please respond/reply to this e-mail off-line (directly to me), if you are a CAT 3 or CAT 4, interested and willing to commit some of your time, you are interested in riding with like-minded people who have the same goals and would like a more structured team format. All we need at this point is your name and what category you currently are. Also, if you have a question do not hesitate to email it to me.

Anyway, let us know and we will go from there.

Thank you!

Jens
