Every month we do a round up of news about the Women’s Team, and distribute to our team. One of our Masters asked that I forward this month’s, so you can know what we’ve been up to. Enjoy

Hi everyone,

I hope you are managing to get your training in despite the rain. I grew up
experiencing this kind of rain practically everyday in winter, so I'm ready
for sun again. Spoilt rotten I know.

Please save this email group list as it's the latest.

Just a quick round up of news.

1. Trudi hosted the Women's Cat 4 meeting last Sunday. Thank you. It was
great to hear everyone's goals for 2010. Trudi is looking forward to some
great RR this season, especially if it includes climbing.

2. Vikki Appel our hardcore Canadian :) met her team at the meeting. After
she told us the story of finishing a road race on her boyfriends mountain
bike, because she was in a break and didn't want to give up 8th place, we
fell in love with her. Clearly she fits in perfectly.

3. Nicole is racing CBR this weekend. Good luck. She also just moved in
with her boyfriend. Yay! Very cute couple.

4. Kendall is also racing CBR this weekend. Good luck to you too. You and
Nicole are breaking the ice for the women's team. Kendall is also our club
Director of PR and Marketing and Captain of the Cat 4 team

5. Linda is gearing up for her Tri in Hawaii in March. She is also looking
at racing some RR this season. Linda has also taken on
the role of Director of Club Membership.

6. Dora has been doing a lot of mountain biking during the off season. She
is strong on the hills and pretty fearless descending. She is going to be
doing a number of RR this season.

7. Betsy has been training hard with Dotsie and has marked a number of key
races for the season, including San Dimas. She has been working on her
sprinting!

8. Christine, our youngest, is fired up to race her first road race this
season. As long as it's flat and fast, she's up for it (her words).
Christine is Cat 2 on the track as you know, but is new to the road. For
someone who is used to doing Madisons it won't be a problem for her to
muscle her way to the front!!

9. Julie Guthrie is a few points away from her Cat 2 upgrade so is going to
focus on knocking off a few races early season. Please help her reach her
goal!! She is also the new Director of Special Events!

10. Abigail is pregnant and is due in July. She and Aron are so excited
although Ab misses her team mates a lot. I suggest we all do a spin class
together when she gets the go ahead. Congratulations Abigail.

11. Debbie has put in a good base during the off season and will be looking
at specific track races for 2010

12. Lauren Jacobsen, our WC sprinter is hammering it away in the gym and on
the road with Antony. God help anyone who decides to do the 500m Team
Sprint (cough cough - me) That person better get moving!!

13. Angela is close to completing her police training. We are so proud of
her. She gets up before 4 each morning and trains on her bike before going
and getting the s--- beaten out of her at the Academy.

14. Lauren Liscinski is coming to LA for three weeks for some freelance TV
work. To say she is excited to be with her tribe in LA is an
understatement!! I personally can't wait to have her here.

15. Jen Jo will be at the U25 camp this weekend and is excited to see her
team mates. She's fired up for a great season.

16. Jenna is in Australia right now and showing off about the weather being
nice. She won't be at the camp this weekend. We'll miss you Jenna

17. Julia La Franchise is coming to LA tonight and then joining us at camp
this weekend. She is excited about her strong team for this season!! Her
first race will be Poor College Kids and Mothballs. I met Julia last year
in a break at Mothballs. I was so excited that we stayed away. Despite being from
different teams, we worked so well together. As a result I got 3rd. After I asked her to join the
team. I had no idea she was great friends with Lauren and Jen Jo!!!

18. Kendall Ryan is going to focus on Mountain Bike racing and Road this
year. She will also be at camp this weekend. I am excited to race with all
the girls this season.

19. Welcome Ivie Crawford, our latest junior to join the ranks. Kendall
will send all the women's team an introduction to Ivie. I know some of the
Cat 4 women have had an introduction.

20. Finally ME -- well I'm very excited to be the Co-President of the club
with Mike Novitch. I have been developing new roles with some key players,
including Julie, Kendall, Trudi and Linda, so we will fill you in at the Pro
Night at Cynergy Jan 30th. Please come and meet your sponsors and drink
Sierra Nevada (responsibly as Eddie would say).

So that's it. We have 20 strong, fabulous women on the NOW-MS Team. You
should be so proud. Our team (which is not so "wee" anymore) consists of
the best group of women in So Cal. We all get on so well and we ride hard
too. Sounds perfect to me. As as I keep hearing -- the girls are not bad
on the eyes either! Life could be worse

Good luck for the camp, good luck for the race Sunday, and enjoy your
weekend whatever you are doing!

Louise
