Redlands Stage 2 NOW men and women

Saturday, March 27
Redlands Bicycle Classic Stage Race
Stage 2 - Criterium

In the women's race today, Kendall Ryan rode attentively at the front of the field. She was close to making the break of 10 riders. She came in 5th in field sprint. Placed 13th in the race.

The breakaway pace caused many in the women's field to not make the time cut but the rest of the NOW-MS Society women: Jennifer Johansen, Jenna Kowalski and guest rider Tammy Wildgoose did make the cut, are still in the race and will start the road race tomorrow. Kendall is 69th in GC. Jen Jo 77th. Tammy 82nd. Jenna 88th.

In the men's race, Fly V set a tough tempo all day. Sergio Hernandez was in 2 break attempts, one in the first 3rd of the race and one in the last 3rd of the race. But the field was not letting much out. It was a day of a lot of crashes, including a big one 6 laps from the end that reshuffled things. Corey Farrell, Danny Heeley and Sergio all avoided crashes. Thomas Hubbard, Cory Greenberg and Charles Bryer got caught up in crashes but are fine, got right back in the race and finished. After a tough crash yesterday, Kit fought back today and rode hard. Official men's results TBA.

Tomorrow is Stage 3, the Road Race
10:00am Women (68.3 miles, 9 laps)
1:30pm Men (94.1 miles, 12 laps)
